Spreading of Impacting Water Droplet on Surface with Fixed Microstructure and Different Wetting from Superhydrophilicity to Superhydrophobicity

چکیده

The spreading of the water droplets falling on surfaces with a contact angle from 0 to 160° was investigated in this work. Superhydrophilicity surface is achieved by laser treatment, and hydrophobization then applying fluoropolymer coating different thicknesses. chosen approach makes it possible obtain wettability, but same morphology. parameter t* corresponding time when capillary wave reaches droplet apex established. It shown that for earlier moments, height change does not depend type used substrate. A comparison data other authors made motion line weakly depends structure if its characteristic size less than 10 μm.

From superhydrophobicity and water repellency to superhydrophilicity: smart polymer-functionalized surfaces.

pH-responsive surfaces, reversibly switching between superhydrophilicity and superhydrophobicity/water repellency, are developed by "grafting from" a pH-sensitive polymer onto a hierarchically micro/nano-structured substrate. We quantify the water repellency by investigating the restitution coefficient of water droplets bouncing off the surfaces. The water repellent state requires appropriate h...

Superhydrophobicity and superhydrophilicity of regular nanopatterns.

The hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity, and sliding behavior of water droplets on nanoasperities of controlled dimensions were investigated experimentally. We show that the "hemi-wicking" theory for hydrophilic SiO(2) samples successfully predicts the experimental advancing angles and that the same patterns, after silanization, become superhydrophobic in agreement with the Cassie-Baxter and Wenzel ...

Droplet Spreading: Partial Wetting Regime Revisited

We study the time evolution of a sessile liquid droplet, which is initially put onto a solid surface in a nonequilibrium configuration and then evolves towards its equilibrium shape. We adapt here the standard approach to the dynamics of mechanical dissipative systems, in which the driving force, i.e., the gradient of the system’s Lagrangian function, is balanced against the rate of the dissipa...

the influence of corpus luteum on follicular fluid composition from different size follicles and their relationship to serum concentrations in sanjabi ewes

the aim of the present study was to determine the in?uence of presence or absence of corpus luteum (cl) on hormonal and metabolites composition of follicular ?uid (ff) harvested from different sized follicles and its relationship with blood serum concentrations in sanjabi ewes. ovaries and blood samples were collected from 60 clinically healthy adult ewes (sanjabi breed) 1–3 years of age in dio...

Effects of geometrical characteristics of surface roughness on droplet wetting.

Surface roughness is known to alter the wettability on a solid substrate. In general, either Wenzel or Cassie-Baxter theory is adopted to describe the apparent contact angle. Following the minimum free energy pathway associated with the imbibition process, we have derived a generalized expression for the apparent contact angle on a textured surface and the liquid-gas contact area within the gro...
